Every woman loves shoes! Whether you are a sucker for stiletto’s or prefer to purchase pumps, I know you are saying ‘shoes, shoes, more more shoes’ every time you go shopping.
For me, it got to the point where they were literally spilling out of my closet. It was being a little bit silly, if I’m honest. I needed a new place to store my shoes but with the house being pretty small, space was tight and I couldn’t afford to buy a bigger closet.
I started looking into some creative, cheap ways I could make a shoe rack, I mean, whats the point in spending my hard earned cash when I could make one at home for free?
Luckily enough I found some amazing hacks online, and it’s fair to say I have no issues with storing my shoes anymore!

1. A Ladder worth climbing
Got an old ladder out in the garage? Before you consider throwing it in the trash, turn it into a trendy project! Sand the wood and then paint the ladder a fun color and once dry, you can hang your pumps from the ladder rungs easily.Perfect!
2. Under the bed organizer
The space under your bed is never used for anything useful, so why not fill it with shoes? These pallet racks are easy to make from reclaimed wood and won’t take up any much-needed space in your bedroom. It’s neat and saves sooo much space!
3. Kid’s Shoe Rack
Use an old pallet to make a shoe rack for your kids room and create more space for them to play. Simply lean the pallet against a wall and stick shoes into the slots!
4. Colorful Molding
You can find molding at some antique stores or even at basic hardware stores! All you have to do is cut the molding to size and paint it a bold, fun color to give you wall decor some pop.
5. Wine Box Organizer
For those of us who love wine almost as much as we love shoes, this is the perfect craft. Use a tote (any tote) and use cardboard wine separators to make sections for your shoes. Free and functional? Yes, please.
6. Multi-Shelf Closet Rack
One of the easiest DIYs you can do is this multi-shelf closet rack. It doesn’t get more simple to make or use than this straight-forward shoe shelf. If you are struggling to put one together, ask your husband – he’ll know what to do!
