7 Slow Cooker Appetizers To Make Your Mouth Water

1) Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon of salsa
  • 3 drops of hot pepper sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • ¼ cup of fresh lemon juice
  • 1 bottle or can of chile sauce
  • 5 ½ pounds of split with the tips discarded chicken wings

Directions

  • Place the chicken inside a slow cooker. Take a medium sized bowl and combine together salt, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salsa, chili powder, hot pepper sauce, chile powder, and lemon juice in it. Mix these together and then pour the mixture on top of the chicken.
  • Cook this in the slow cooker using medium to low heat setting for about 5 hours.
  • If you want the cleanup process to be easier, then you can simply use a liner inside your slow cooker.

2) Bavarian Style Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 package of frozen meatballs
  • 1 cup of packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 27 ounces of un-drained Bavarian style sauerkraut
  • 1 can of whole cranberry sauce
  • 12 fluid ounces of tomato based chili sauce

Directions

  • Take a medium sized bowl and combine together brown sugar, water, sauerkraut, cranberry sauce, and chili sauce inside it. Mix these ingredients well and then pour the sauce as well as the meatballs inside the slow cooker. Stir well.
  • Cover this up and cook for about 4 hours using medium heat. Stir this occasionally so that the meatballs can be coated well.
  • If you want the cleanup process to be easier, then you can simply use a liner inside your slow cooker.

3) Chicken Nachos Dip

  • 1 cup of drained and rinsed black beans
  • 2 tablespoons of minced jalapeno pepper
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of taco seasoning mix
  • ¼ cup of diced green onion
  • 1/3 cup of sour cream
  • 2 large and shredded breast halves of boneless and skinless chicken
  • 1 loaf of processed and cubed cheese food
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes along with drained green chile peppers

Directions

  • Place the jalapeno pepper, taco seasoning, green onion, sour cream, chicken meat, processed cheese, and diced tomatoes inside a slow cooker. Cook this using high heat and stir occasionally for about 1 to 2 hours until the dip becomes hot and the cheese has completely melted. Add the black beans in and cook this for an additional 15 minutes for reheating purposes.
  • In case the dip becomes too thick, you can add in a little bit of milt to make it thinner.

4) Marinated Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • ½ or more cup of butter, according to your need
  • 4 pounds of fresh mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of dill weed
  • 1 cup of dry red wine
  • 2 cups of boiling water
  • 4 cubes of beef bouillon
  • 4 cubes of chicken bouillon

Directions

  • Dissolve the beef and chicken bouillon cubes within boiling water placed inside a bowl. Add garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, dill and red wine to it and stir so that these can be combined together.
  • Arrange the mushrooms at the slow cooker’s bottom. Pour the broth mixture on top of the mushrooms and top this with butter.
  • Cook this for about 12 hours on low heat.

5) Spicy Hot Chicken Legs

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups of blue cheese salad dressing
  • Pepper and salt according to taste
  • ½ teaspoon of onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon if garlic powder
  • ¼ cup of cubed butter
  • 1 bottle of hot red pepper sauce
  • 12 chicken drumsticks

Directions

  • Put the drumsticks inside the slow cooker and sprinkle this evenly using butter pieces. Pour on top of the chicken the hot sauce and then season this using pepper, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder. Cover this and cook it for about 3 hours on high temperature until it becomes tender. Serve the cooked chicken legs with the blue cheese dressing on the side.

6) Sweet And Sour Meatballs

Ingredients

  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 grated and large onion
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • 9 ounces of grape jelly
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • 1 bottle or can of chile sauce

Directions

  • Whisk the grape jelly, lemon juice, and chili sauce together. Pour this inside the slow cooker and then simmer on low heat until this becomes warm.
  • Combine together salt, onion, egg, and ground beef. Mix this well and then form it into balls of 1 inch. Add this to the sauce and then simmer for about 1 ½ hours.

7) Cheesy Taco Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of processed and shredded cheese
  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 package of taco seasoning mix
  • ¾ cup of water
  • 1 pound of lean ground beef

Directions

  • Take a large skillet and put the ground beef in. Drain the fat. Stir in water and seasoning packet. Bring this to boil and reduce the heat so it can simmer. Allow this to cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Place this mixture of ground beef inside the slow cooker. Add in the cheese and tomatoes.
  • Cook for about an hour on low heat.
