4 Classic Italian Dinner Recipes

1) Buttered Gnocchi With Samphire And Parsley

You can freeze any leftovers, unless someone in your family has midnight cravings for more gnocchi.


  1. 900 grams of potatoes flour (unpeeled)
  2. 50 grams of butter (salted)
  3. 1 egg (beaten)
  4. 225 grams of white flour (plain)


  1. 100 grams of butter (salted)
  2. 6 shallots (sliced)
  3. 3 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  4. 200 grams of samphire
  5. 2 packets of parsley (chopped)


  1. Make the gnocchi by cooking the potatoes in hot water for 40 to 50 minutes.
  2. Peel off the skin and press them through a potato ricer or a sieve into a bowl.
  3. Add 1 tsp of salt, butter, 1/2 of flour, and egg into the warm potatoes.
  4. Mix the ingredients together and pour them onto a board.
  5. Knead the flour to create a smooth and soft consistency.
  6. Roll out the dough, making them into sausages.
  7. Slice the dough, cutting them into 2 centimeters pieces and place them on a tea towel.
  8. In a pan, bring the water to a boil and put the gnocchi into it.
  9. Let it cook for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  10. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the pan.
  11. In another pan, heat the butter and add garlic and shallots.
  12. Soften it for about 5 to 6 minutes.
  13. Add samphire and cook for an additional 4 to 6 minutes.
  14. In the same pan, add the gnocchi and top it off with parsley.
  15. Mix and serve.

2) Stuffed Italian Chicken        


The stuffed Italian chicken is an appetizing dish, one that you can cook up at home when you are holding large gatherings.

Impress your family and friends with your cooking skills by preparing this wonderful dish for them. The next time they come over, they may specifically request you to make this dish.


  1. 2 tbsp of olives (chopped)
  2. 1 clove of garlic (crushed)
  3. 1/2 tsp of mixed herbs (dried)
  4. 200 grams of tub soft cheese (full fat)
  5. 4 plump chicken breasts (skinless and boneless)
  6. 4 tomatoes (sliced)
  7. Olive oil for drizzling


  1. Heat the oven to 428 Fahrenheit.
  2. Beat the garlic, olives, and mixed herbs into the soft cheese, and then season it.
  3. Slit the side of each boneless chicken breast to turn into a pocket using the serrated knife.
  4. Stuff the pocket of chicken breast with the cheese mixture and press it to close it.
  5. Grease a baking tray and place the chicken breast on there.
  6. Season the chicken breast and place slices of tomato on them.
  7. Season again, sprinkle it with mixed herbs, and drizzle olive oil on top of it.
  8. Roast the chicken breasts for about 20 minutes.
  9. Serve it with garlic bread and salad.

3) Roasted Lamb In Red Wine And Served With Italian Beans 



  1. 2 kilograms of lamb leg
  2. 4 cloves of garlic (sliced)
  3. 8 sprigs of thyme
  4. 5 tbsp of olive oil
  5. Red wine (1/2 bottle)
  6. 1 zest of lemon
  7. 11 hot stock of lamb
  8. 3 red onion (cut into 6 wedges)
  9. 2 tbsp of balsamic vinegar
  10. Beans
  11. 2 rosemary (chopped)
  12. 100 grams of tomato (chopped and drained)
  13. 1 can of cannellini beans
  14. Fresh parsley (chopped)


  1. Use a serrated knife to cut slashes into the lamb.
  2. Place a garlic into each slash.
  3. In a plastic bag, place some of the thyme, 3 tbsp of olive oil, lemon zest, red wine, black pepper, and lamb. Place it in the freezer for 4 hours or overnight.
  4. Heat the oven to 428 Fahrenheit.
  5. In a roasting tin, place the remaining thyme, and them place the lamb on top of it.
  6. Roast the lamb for about 20 minutes.
  7. Add the onions to the pan and drizzle it with olive oil.
  8. Lower the heat to 374 Fahrenheit and roast for another 15 minutes.
  9. Strain the marinade through a sieve into a pan and add stock to it.
  10. Boil it for about 20 minutes.
  11. Take out the lamb and place it on a board. Wrap the lamb with foil to keep it warm.
  12. Place the onions in another bowl. Place the roasting tin over low heat and add vinegar to it. Scrape it and pour it in the gravy bowl.
  13. To make the beans, add 3 tbsp of olive oil into the roasting tin. Add the tomatoes and rosemary and allow it to fry for 1 minute.
  14. Add them to the stock, season, add parsley, and stir.
  15. Serve the beans with the leg of lamb and gravy.

4) Spaghetti With Salami, Chili Prawns, And Gremolata Breadcrumbs



  1. 4 tbsp of olive oil
  2. 2 red chilies (sliced and unseeded)
  3. 3 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  4. 1 tsp of fennel seeds
  5. 10 slices of fennel salami (chopped)
  6. 140 grams of cherry tomatoes (halved)
  7. 400 grams of spaghetti
  8. 33 grams of prawns (deveined and shells removed)


  1. 2 slices of bread (crumbed)
  2. 1 large packet of parsley (chopped)
  3. 1 zest of lemon


  1. Heat the oven to 428 Fahrenheit.
  2. In a frying pan, heat 3 tbsp of oil.
  3. Add chilies, garlic, and sauté it for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add fennel seeds with salami and stir it for about 1 minute.
  5. Add tomatoes and some salt and sauté it for another 10 minutes.
  6. Put the breadcrumbs onto a baking sheet and drizzle the remaining oil on it.
  7. Season and bake them for about 7 minutes.
  8. Add in the garlic and bake for an additional 3 minutes.
  9. Remove the pan and add lemon zest and parsley.
  10. Cook the pasta in salted water for about 9 minutes.
  11. Heat the sauce, add in the prawns, and cook them.
  12. Drain the water of the pasta and incorporate the sauce.
  13. Serve warm.
